Teacher Update – Language Acquisition Course & Upcoming Evaluation

As a reminder, the Language Acquisition course ( 👉 Access the course here:
https://inglesconjoe.com/language-acquisition-course/)
must be completed by March 31 in order to qualify for your bonus. If you have not finished the course yet, please make sure to complete it before the deadline.

Beginning in April, each teacher will also be asked to record one of their classes that they choose for a teaching evaluation. (I’ll provide information in April’s newsletter on how to record your online class.) The purpose of this evaluation is to support your professional development and ensure that our classes reflect the principles covered in the Language Acquisition course.

The evaluation will be based on the methodology and teaching practices presented in the course. To help you prepare and plan your class, please review the Teacher Evaluation Sheet by clicking the button below:

This document outlines the areas we will be observing, including lesson structure, student interaction, speaking time, feedback strategies, and overall classroom engagement.

If you have any questions about the course, the evaluation process, or the observation criteria, please feel free to reach out.

Stronger professional preparation leads to more confident English speakers.

When we improve, our students improve.

Reminder: Free Trial Classes & Attendance Sheets

There have been a few questions regarding free trial classes, so I’d like to clarify the policy.

Teachers will be paid for trial classes, even if the student ultimately decides not to enroll. If it’s a group class, the potential student receives a free week of classes. Saturday classes and private classes the potential student receives a free class.

When completing the attendance sheets, please use the following codes:

  • Click for larger image.

    T – Trial class

  • P – Student present

  • E – Student notified the teacher they could not attend

  • U – Student absent without notice

It is very important that attendance sheets are updated immediately after each class. This allows me to monitor student participation and follow up when necessary.

If a student misses three classes in a row, I will contact the student to check if there is a problem and see how we can help him continue his classes.

Accurate attendance records are also essential because they are used for billing both individual students and the companies we work with. At some companies, Human Resources monitors the attendance registry daily. For these reasons, please make sure the information is updated and correct after every class.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep everything running smoothly.

Teacher Opportunity: Contribute to “5-Minute English”

Teachers are invited to contribute ideas for our “5-Minute English” tips that we share with students. These are short, practical explanations that help learners quickly understand and use useful English.

A 5-Minute English lesson should focus on one small topic that students can easily learn and apply right away. This could include:

  • A common grammar point

  • A useful expression or phrase

  • A pronunciation tip

  • A common mistake Spanish speakers make in English

  • A quick strategy to sound more natural

The goal is to give students a short, clear explanation with helpful examples that they can read and immediately start using in conversation.

If you have an idea for a 5-Minute English topic, feel free to share it. Your contributions help us provide more useful learning resources for our students.
