💼 Occupations

What do you do? = What’s your job. In English we ask “What do you do?

Example:

Question: What do you do?
Answer: I’m an accountant
Question: What does she do?
Answer: She’s a nanny.

Question: What does he do?
Answer: He’s a mechanic.

In English, we use a and an before jobs.

Use a before a consonant sound.
Examples:

She’s a teacher. 👩‍🏫

He’s a doctor. 👨‍⚕️

Use an before a vowel sound (a, e, i, o, u).
Examples:

She’s an engineer. 👩‍💻

He is an artist. 🎨
